James was a model for Paul Mitchell, Redken, Matrix, American Crew, and many others for 13 years. He also taught modeling classes for a school in downtown Seattle.
We don't have any upcoming scouting events scheduled. Instead, you can audition via email by sending us your name, stats (height, weight, sizes, measurements), and pictures.

Since we don't work directly for any agency, we give you our honest opinion of what the best next steps are for you.
Note: NW Model Scout is NOT an agency - just a scouting service.
Sometimes we hold a private session before the doors open, limited to a small number of people, where our scout will answer your questions directly.
We provide fashion and portrait photography services on a full-day or half-day basis. Half-day shoots are 4 hours or less – anything over 4 hours is a Full-day shoot.
The price of a shoot usually also includes one touched-up (Photoshopped) picture of each outfit. Hair and makeup artists cost extra.
We sometimes offer "group shoots" where a handful of models are photographed one after another during the same Half-day or Full-day shoot. Each model only pays a portion of the shoot cost.
Full-day shoot: $400
Half-day shoot: $250
To schedule an individial shoot or enquire about group-shoot availability, email us (or use our contact form) your name, what kind of shoot you're interested in, and what days/times work best for you.
While some potential models may benefit from the classes provided by the large franchises, we feel we can offer a more personalized experience.
What often happens at the big schools is that everyone is lumped in a class together. So even if you just need some work on your runway walk, you'll be forced to take classes on things like etiquette and makeup.
We specialize in teaching runway and photo posing techniques by photographing and videotaping you, and then providing you with personalized feedback.
The price for each session is $50, and there is no obligation to sign up for a large number of sessions - you should only have to take as many classes as you need.
At an open scouting event, you'll sign in and then wait for your name to be called. When it's your turn, we may ask things like whether you already have experience, how tall you are, or what kind of modeling you're interested in.
If you are tall enough and/or have a particular look, we may ask you to walk down an aisle as if it was a runway so that we can asses your walk.
We may also ask you to show a pose as if you were on camera during a shoot. If you don't feel comfortable doing this, you don't have to.
After we take a look at you, we'll recommend an agency or school depending on your look and natural skill level.
The whole process only takes a couple minutes, but you may have to wait a while until it is your turn.
Private sessions are held before the doors open to everyone else. They are limited to a small number of people so that you can ask questions that we don't have time to answer in the regular scouting session.
We also spend more time talking about the modeling industry including topics like:
Private sessions are $25 per person, cash or check only (we have no way of accepting credit cards on-site).
Notice: We are currently in need of one or two models for a shoot on Sunday, June 17th. No experience required. Model(s) will be paid.
One of our Photography Assistants will be doing a training shoot in the north Seattle area, and we need a model or two to use for practice.
